New York Life Investment Management's Investment Consulting Group (ICG) is seeking a Portfolio Intelligence Developer to develop the system and processes which support risk management and investment analysis of various investment strategies across a multi-boutique structure. This high-exposure, individual contributor role will be based in Jersey City, NJ.

The Portfolio Intelligence Developer will develop a database and reporting platform for ICG to assess and monitor a large number of investment strategies including equity, fixed income, as well as alternative investments.
Design the data structure and data flow; automate the processes for collecting, reconciling data from multiple sources; automate the processes for performance attribution, risk management, and investment analysis
Develop the platform for creation and production of reports that are used in various areas of the firm
Develop data intelligence tools for analyzing the performance and risk of various investment strategies
Supervise the data management process between custodian banks, and software vendors to ensure that the underlying data supporting the analytics is accurate and timely
Review the output from various reporting and analytics tools to verify that the investment instruments are being properly calculated and treated.
The following are attributes and skills that are desired in candidates:
Strong database and application development skills
Strong product knowledge (Equities, Futures, FX, Fixed Income, Options, Swaps, etc.)
Strong critical thinking skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity
A belief in continuous improvement and an unrelenting attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Strong time/project management skills
At least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity at an asset management, prime brokerage, investment consulting or technology consulting firm.
Hands-on database and application development experience
Hands-on quantitative development experience preferred
Knowledge of one or more performance and risk systems
Must have the ability to work both independently as well as within a team on multiple time-sensitive projects.
Bachelors degree is required, graduate degree is preferred
