Chief Data Office (CDO), within UBS Global Asset Management (AM), was established to re-define AM's data strategy and support the management of core data sets used across AM, such as Product data, Securities & Pricing data, Trade & Accounting data, and Client data. The CDO provides the foundation for establishing a data driven culture, by guiding the successful delivery of front-to-back solutions and enabling the distribution of managed data assets across AM. To design multi-faceted transformational strategies and deliver cutting edge solutions, the CDO is structured to encompass several functions, including Program Management, Data Architecture, Data Services, and Data Governance.
At UBS Asset Management, we are seeking a Senior Executive with strong leadership and managerial skills with operations and technical experience at leading financial institutions to assist in the creation and expansion of our Knowledge Services Team. The Knowledge Service Team will oversee UBS Asset Management's centralized data platform and provide the necessary operational and data governance services required to ensure the integrity of the data. He / She will ensure successful integration of existing teams performing similar functions with the new Knowledge Services team. Team lead will be responsible to establish common operating procedures while accommodating unique needs of different regions and businesses.
Define data management functions to meet near term objectives around instrument and pricing data.
Integrate existing teams, hire new talent and form a global Knowledge Services team to provide a central data service for different businesses within Asset Management
Define the oversight model for operational services through KPCs and KPIs. Ensure the regular production of these metrics for management review
Understand the regulatory objectives for BCBS, IHC etc., and define the reporting requirements for Data Management related activities
Responsible for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of the function
Define a roadmap for long term goals to enable value added Knowledge Services for analytics, risk, product control, performance etc.
Collaborate with other CDO members, functional leads and IT leads for change management
Partner with UBS Robotics team to identify opportunities for operational effectiveness
Provide leadership, direction, advice and guidance to the team, thus maintaining high levels of integrity, motivation and morale
The individual will also work alongside other executives, data owners and data stewards to achieve data accuracy and process requirements goals set by the Chief Data Office. The centralized data platform and The Data Knowledge Services Team are newly formed and represents a growing solution for Asset Management making for an exciting leadership position which will require an excellent combination of operational excellence, technical knowledge, people management and communication skills
Your experience and skills
15+ years of diverse experience in managing data operations and data platforms. Experience in instrument and pricing services is highly desirable
7+ years of experience in managing global teams supporting data operations
Proven knowledge of Asset Management data and business processes
Good knowledge of various financial instruments, especially OTC instruments
Experience with operational metrics creation and reporting
Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) is highly preferred
Familiarity with data management solutions is preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with front to back functions
Maturity to manage critical BAU functional along with change programs
Bachelors of Science (Master Degree preferred)
