The Investment Department is responsible for the supervision of the defined benefit pension plans, 401(k) plans and other benefit assets funding these services and oversees portfolios exceeding $12 billion. The Department is looking to add an investment analyst in its Queens office to compliment current investment and operational team members.
The candidate will report to the Chief investment Officer, work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and must be comfortable operating in a lean team environment. A successful candidate will possess excellent quantitative skills and have prior experience in asset management or with a plan sponsor.
The Investment Analyst is responsible for:
Sourcing custodial data to build exposure and risk management systems. The focus will be to develop a risk dashboard to measure and analyze concentration, value at risk and tracking error for assets and liabilities.
Analyzing performance and portfolio data to provide oversight of investment managers.
Assisting in the legal and administrative processes required to onboard new managers.
Periodic analysis of liabilities and funded status including the development of liability benchmarks.
Supporting the oversight of a $5.3 billion DC Plan including a $3.4 billion Stable Value option.
Supporting the implementation of operational risk management tools.
Keeping apprised of regulatory rules such as ERISA and the PPA.
Preparing reports for monthly Investment Committee meetings, including attribution for investment returns.
Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA preferred.
3-5 years of related work experience in banking, investment management, or pension fund management. Prior experience in fixed income or equity investing a plus.
Candidate must have well-developed financial modeling and analysis skills, advanced knowledge of spreadsheet construction is a requirement. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Barra, Fact Set or BlackRock Solutions a plus.
