Your role Are you trustworthy in driving the business forward? Do you know how to make sure things run smoothly? We're looking for someone like that who can provide business-related services and support to our FX, Rates & Credit businesses as well as: – assist the Regional FRC Operating Officer on strategic, operational and daily business matters – work with key stakeholders in the first and second line of defense to identify, address gaps in the FTB control framework and mitigate operational risks impacting the business – develop partnerships by increasing the depth and breadth of relationship with sales and trading heads in the region, specifically in depth business reviews, alignment of sales & trading practices with remediation projects and supervision – work with Change teams for successful implementation of the FRC technology investment and ensure agreed benefits are delivered while continuing to improve the simplification of our Booking Models, Trade Lifecycle and Infrastructure – support the FRC business in regulatory matters, including resolution planning, ad hoc regulatory requests for information and preparation for meetings with regulators – provide independent leadership of special projects while operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
Your team You'll be working in the FX, Rates & Credit (FRC) COO team in New York. We deal with a broad range of deliverables focusing on Front to Back Governance and Risk framework, regulatory change and special projects. Reporting into FRC Americas Operating Officer and working closely together, you will assist with implementation and development of action plans and key initiatives of the IB COO department. From the start of the job, you'll be right at the heart of the business.
Your experience and skills You have: – experience in either investment bank business analysis / COO, investment banking front office, big 4 accountancy in banking/finance sector, product control or management consultancy – facilitation and co-ordination skills with the ability to manage busy, high-priority workload with tight deadlines – knowledge and understanding of front to back processes, sensitivity towards a diverse workforce on the trading floor – a proven track record of operating in a matrix environment, driving consensus and constructively challenging – the ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
You are: – an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills – a high performing individual with awareness of UBS or a similar institution, its businesses, the opportunities and challenges confronting the industry – comfortable in facing off to people at all levels of seniority; good at building a network of contacts across the business, logistics and control functions and within the business management team – skilled using Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
