POSITION SUMMARY: LA Capital is looking for a Portfolio Management Junior Analyst to assist with all aspects of the PM function and work closely with members of the Operations and Trading departments. The duties will include internal analysis/portfolio review, client reporting, weekly rebalance/optimization process, operational activities and business development efforts.
This role offers a successful candidate the opportunity for exposure to all aspects of a growing institutional money management firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support for all aspects of the Portfolio Management role including the following:
Prepare attribution and other analysis tables for reports and prospects
Assist in reviewing and maintaining client guidelines including client restricted lists and compliance reporting
Work with PMs to develop portfolio parameters and assist with weekly rebalance
Assist in preparing for the monthly Portfolio Review Committee meeting
Assist in cash management and reconciliation from a front office perspective
Assist with other operational activities such as corporate actions, cash flows and transitions
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
A completed Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
1-2 years' experience in Investment Management or related field, Operations background and familiarity with Global Equity Markets trading/settlement is a plus
Familiarity with investment strategies/products
Familiarity with portfolio analytic and order management systems such as Wilshire's Atlas, Factset, Axioma, Charles River
Experience with long/short strategies and margin management is a plus
Expert at Microsoft Office
Highly organized and detail oriented, self-motivated, strong work ethic
Excellent team player who likes to work hard and anticipates needs
Crisp and clear written and verbal communication skills
