The firm are now looking to hire an Asset Manager as a key hire in their West Coast office. The role will initially be based in LA but there is a chance that it will be moved to San Francisco in around 12 months time so it is important that the successful applicant would be open to a potential relocation.
The responsibilities of this person will be to formulate and execute asset management strategies and plans for the real estate portfolio, include market strategies to optimize income and realize the highest value of the firms assets
Other responsibilities include:
Responsible for the overall positioning of assets as well as the enhancement of cashflow and asset value
Preparing and managing annual budgets and reports which cover the financial performance of the asset, leasing status and rental collection
Recommending divestment opportunities and managing the sale process
Assist with the underwriting of new investment opportunities
Maintaining good tenant relationships to ensure high retention rate
In addition, you will work closely with the Property Manager to ensure that the asset is properly maintained, managed and compliant with regulations and coordinating with external parties like government authorities, brokers, etc
Manage market intelligence and collating global market / industry information to ensure competitiveness
Key skills & required background
Strong educational background, including a degree, either in Real Estate, Building, Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of five years experience in asset management (ideally with some experience in asset management for student housing)
Good knowledge and understanding of local markets
Operationally hands on with solid understanding of core financial principles
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are a prerequisite
