The Senior Specialist primarily works in the creation and dissemination of Regulation 60 disclosures for the Agency and Third Party sales force by processing work in the automated workflow environment. This will be accomplished by establishing an understanding of New York Life products, the systems that support them, and knowledge of the New York State Regulation 60 process. Also works to achieve the goals of their team by working both independently and with other team members. The Senior Specialist applies product knowledge and knowledge of insurance rules and regulations to work on cases and assist with problems and questions within the Regulation 60 Team.
The Senior Specialist will be required to perform limited quality reviews as it pertains to the Regulation 60 process, and will be a contact resource for the Agency sales force. This role will require the processing of competing business needs such as new case creation, stretch projects, and reviews of applications.
Primary Responsibilities :
Processing and delivering of daily Reg 60 disclosures to field agents, brokers, drum steps to agents, and interfacing with agency sales force in a deadline driven environment.
Develop product illustrations, product calculators and policy briefs to provide customers with replacement modeling.
Ensure all relevant and necessary documentation is obtained in the case pertaining to the source and accuracy of information in order to assist with replacement actions and maintain high quality levels.
Field incoming agent inquiries regarding case requirements and communicate regularly with the field and management on the status of escalated cases. Act as resource for technical, product and regulatory information as it applies to Regulation 60 functions for all clients.
Works on special assignments and projects as assigned by management. This may include weekly and monthly reports and inputting NYLApps for Annuity New Business.
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent years of related experience
Minimum 3 years of service related and/or call center experience preferred
Working knowledge of NY Regulation 60 is preferred
Working knowledge of Life and Annuity product mechanics
Accountable, ethical, good decision making ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Good computer skills (MS Office) and ability to multitask
Experience with accomplishing multiple tasks and high volumes of work under strict time deadlines
Working knowledge of proprietary products highly preferred
Problem solving skills and ability to work with little supervision
Strong judgment and decision-making skills are especially crucial when evaluating complicated products and/or replacements for the purposes of making a recommendation to approve or decline paperwork
FINRA Series 6, 11, or 7 license preferred
Position Complexity: The Senior Specialist will be expected to manage competing interests in processing while communicate effectively in a high pressure environment to our sales force. Must have the ability to explain the circumstances pertaining to any relevant, outstanding conditions (such as not in good order) status. The Senior Specialist will also have effective communication with managers and coworkers to ensure work is completed timely, accurately, and adheres to specific NYS Department of Financial Services guidelines.
Training & Development: Senior Specialist will undergo a comprehensive paid on-site training program to learn about the insurance industry, product and policy provisions and transaction processing. Coaching and feedback is provided to help you gain the necessary skills to be successful.
Shift Information: This is a full-time position Monday through Friday.
