Generate profitable investment ideas.
Analyzes and prepares cash flow return on investment models for assigned companies.
Emphasis is placed on primary research contact with companies and competitors, seeking out those with superior or improving competitive positions and financial results.
Recommendation activity is based on bottom-up, fundamental research, oriented toward high-conviction, long-term decisions for client portfolios.
The research process employs disciplined assessments of corporate strategy and execution, valuation, earnings power, profitability trend, cash generation, capital management, governance, and the competitive landscape.
Prepares written recommendations for presentation to the portfolio management team.
Recommends sector based under or over weighted positions vis-à-vis appropriate indices.
Internal and client presentations are expected.
EDUCATION, LICENSES & CREDENTIALS Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field Desired: CFA and/or MBA preferred
EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: 5+ years of direct experience in primary company research and equity recommendation process. Desired: 2 years of analytical experience covering the Consumer Discretionary or Industrials sectors; 2 years small cap equities experience.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Computers, Programs and Design – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook. Working knowledge of FactSet database and analytics is helpful.
Industry Knowledge - Key skills required include industry, product and regulatory environment analysis, communicating with portfolio managers in all offices.
Quantitative Skills - Must possess strong quantitative abilities, strategic perspective, and written/verbal communication skills
Leadership Skills - Collegiality, confidence, and proactivity are highly valued.
